Position: Retail Staff Associate

At the Creative Brick Builders Studio, we specialize in vintage and collectible LEGO® Bricks, sets and minifigures, parts and accessories. Our staff gets paid to play with LEGO!

These are part-time positions with some flexibility in hours/days. Shifts available for as few as 8 hours a week, up to 35 hours per week. These positions are paid as hourly employees (W-2).

The store is open 7 days a week, primarily from 10a-7p, but we extend our evening and weekend hours during the winter holiday season.

Retail staff associates are responsible for managing cash register/point of sale transactions, receiving and maintaining inventory, preparing shipment of items, assembling and verifying LEGO sets, and serving online, phone, and walk-in customers.

Retail Associate Requirements:

You must have cash handling and/or retail experience.

You must have a history of being on time and have an excellent work ethic. Reliability is ESSENTIAL for this role.

Candidates who are true LEGO enthusiasts and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others will be given priority consideration.

You must have have great organizational skills and be comfortable moving between tasks with minimal guidance (after training!) during a shift.

You must be comfortable using computers and technology (our sales, inventory and marketing systems are all online or tablet-based).

Physical Requirements:
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. There will be opportunity to sit during a significant portion of a shift, but staff will need to move around the sales floor during opening hours.

You must have the close visual acuity necessary to distinguish between colors and to identify small parts, view a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes.

      We provide paid training and a uniform shirt.

      Position: Associate Instructor

      Our instructors are individuals who have a great interest and ability in teaching students in creative and exciting way. Most instructors have preschool, elementary or high school classroom teaching experience, and many have Texas teaching licenses. Each instructor is trained in teaching specific lessons involving the software and technology products in the courses. Instructors must complete a Texas DPS background check and fingerprinting.

       

      We are currently interviewing and hiring Associate Instructors for our after-school classes and STEM programs for elementary school children throughout the greater Austin area. Our classes feature hands-on learning using LEGO® bricks! 

      After-school instructors must be available weekdays (at least 2 days a week) between the hours of 2:30pm and 5pm.

      Weekend Party Hosts must be available on Saturdays between 9-6, or on Sunday afternoons.

      Some additional daytime or evening hours may be available in our schedule for established instructors.

      This is a part-time position. It is a great opportunity for individuals who require a flexible schedule. We will give preference to those who can commit to 2 or more after-school session days a week during each semester. Locations include area elementary school campuses in the greater Austin area and suburbs, and at our Creative Studio in Round Rock. We pay $35-$50 per after-school class session, depending on your experience and number of students enrolled. Each after-school shift will be at least 2 hours. Evening or weekend shifts may be 3-6 hours. Party Hosts are paid $10-$12/hr and are also eligible for tips.

      You must:

      * have experience working with children ages 4-11
      * have reliable transportation to/from various class locations
      * have experience being on time and have an excellent work ethic
      * be 18+ and be able to clear a background check and fingerprinting process from the school district and/or Texas DPS
      * have ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs
      * experience playing with LEGO® Bricks is a bonus!

        We will provide all training and materials for our Instructors, who will be paid as an hourly employee of Creative Brick Builders, LLC. Collaboration and teamwork are an important part of our student lessons, and our Instructors will have the opportunity to learn and work together as a team.
